Greece

After showing Mom and Dad around Rome, we all jetted off to the island of Santorini. Mom and I even watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in preparation (remember the scenes from Greece?). It was as beautiful as the movie and all the pictures I've seen of Greece.

We stayed in the most amazing cave houses in Oia. This is the view from our first house.

The first day we were there we walked down a TON of stairs to get to the closest place you could swim. There was this little island with a tiny church on it, maybe 50 ft from the water that we swam to. Then Dad, Michael and myself, climbed up and jumped off. The water was that gorgeous turquoise blue and it was amazing. On our way up the stairs we stopped and watched the sun set.

One of the days there we went on a sailboat around the island stopping at the Nea Kameni volcanic island, minerals hots springs, and the edge of the island to watch the sunset from the water. It was SO fun! They provided traditional Greek appetizers for dinner and we even got to enjoy live saxophone music while watching the sun set.

The mineral hot springs weren't really hot. More like luke warm. But it was fun to rub the mud all over ourselves.

Sunset. 

They have beautiful beaches in Santorini including a black sand and red sand beach. We went to both but I liked the black sand (read: pebble) beach the most.

The night after our boat tour, Mom and I passed a shop in Fira where you can pay to have a fish pedicure (where these little fish eat the dead skin off your feet). We couldn't say no! It was the weirdest feeling EVER! Mom and I were both screaming and freaking out for the first 30 seconds, then you kind of get used to it. But then one of the little fish will start to tickle you and you get all freaked out again. It was hilarious!

We got to go to an outdoor movie theater. It was perfect weather and the movie was pretty good. We even snuck in our own baklava.

We rented ATV's one day and drove out to the red beach. It was so fun cruisin' around the island.

We had an incredible time in Santorini. The island was so picturesque. I hope we get to visit again some day (if just for the baklava).
