NYC Part 3

Saturday we started things off by heading to the Metropolitan Museum to enrich our souls by partaking in the beauty of priceless works of art. (And so our whole trip wasn't about shopping and eating)

New York Bagels. Yum.

Michael decided to drive up from Ohio to surprise us while we were in NYC. The whole crew came up including Mischa who was in town working with the boys. They had to drive all night long to get there.  So we all went to the Smorgasburg in Brooklyn. A summer food fest with about 75 different food vendors.

Maybe my favorite thing I ate the whole trip. Gourmet ice cream sandwich. Oatmeal, chocolate chunk cookies with sea salt. With delicious vanilla ice cream and salted caramel on the inside. Mmm...

The boys really liked the jamaican jerk chicken.

Met up with a friend from Florida who moved to Brooklyn, Jenica Heintzelman.

Even with taking the subway we still walked about 10 miles on Friday and Saturday.

Grand Central Station.

We went to the Upper East side to the oh so famous Laduree (the original is in Paris). The best french macaroons in the world. Mmm...

Hit up another candy store. FAO Schwartz

And we couldn't have gone to NYC without getting some delicious pizza.

Times Square. And yes by Saturday night I had to give in and wear tennis shoes. No more cute shoes.

Sunday we got up and went to Sacrament. It's always so fun to go to church in other states. Then we headed to central park.

We rode the 7 mile loop. It was so fun riding through the park.

Before we could head home we had to try a waldorf salad at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel where the salad was invented.

It didn't actually have any lettuce in the waldorf salad. Apples, celery, grapes and walnuts.

Then sadly it was time to head back home.
We had so much fun on our girls trip!!! We can't wait to go on another one next year.

NYC Part 2

Friday in the big apple started off with lots of shopping!

All that shopping worked up my appetite. And I love food trucks. Especially when it's a Lobster Roll truck. Mmm... (First lunch)

Our shopping adventures took us further down town to SoHo.  After a few more hours of spending our money we needed some sustenance. (My second lunch) Kelly introduced us to this amazing Jamaican restaurant, Negril Village.

My salmon was amazing! I almost licked the plate.

Then we were off to more shopping! TopShop was a given, since the only one in America is in SoHo.

Shopping really does work up my appetite!! Rice to Riches. The rice pudding was so delicious. We had 4 different flavors. French toast, coconut, vanilla bean, and cheesecake. Mmm...

After the first day we started keeping track of how much we were walking (pedometer iPhone App). Even with taking the subway we walked 9 miles on Friday by the end of the day. Phew! Good thing since I was eating my way around the city.

Dylan's Candy Shop.

We finished off the night with some yummy thai food.

Then back to the Waldorf Astoria to finish watching Maid in Manhattan.

Clearly the theme of Friday was shopping and eating. Two of my favorite things to do on vacation!!!
